It is strategically located with Gensen Park, hand & foot bath all near round the corner. There are some other attractions just nearby as well. Standing from the (月見橋) bridge when you cross the Toyohira River, you get to see lovely views on both sides. The hotel itself may be a little old but it is very well maintained. Everything works perfectly. It is a huge hotel with many things to entertain you, there is the lounge, the public & private onsen, souvenir shop, massage, games room, & etc. We were early and we left our luggages and headed straight out to explore. The front staffs are quite senior and know their work very well & very patient to explain things to you even though they speak Japanese and we speak English. Have no worries, the front desk staffs all have a translation device so you will do fine. They are very helpful and will help you book a taxi which saved us from having to explain where and what we want with the taxi driver. We fell in love with the charming lattice door outside your room door. The corridor leading to your room feels like an apartment and not a hotel. Having never stayed in a Japanese-styled room, I find the room is very good considering that it is only 17sq m. The room itself contains a little foyer, a separate toilet, a separate dressing area, a separate bathroom, a living cum bedroom and a balcony to enjoy the beautiful lake view from your room. There is a light snack to welcome you at the lobby and your room as well. Must try the snack, it's mainly sweet potato & red bean in a small bun if I recall correctly. It goes very well with tea. The hotel is very consider to have a air filter in every room, this is very re-assuring especially we are still having covid. Dinner was fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Each dish is explained to you when they serve but of course we had no idea what they were saying. We just smile and said arigato and enjoy the wonderful spread of food.

This hotel is hands down the best onsen hotel we have been with great value. The hotel is just opposite of the bus pickup/drop off area so its convenient access the hotel. Breakfast and dinner provided were fantastic. The hotel room were really spacious and clean beyond our expectation. Yukata were provided and my kid looks cute in them. We enjoyed alot at the public bath and there is also massage chair just outside the public bath. We also went to the night bar and the staffs there were really helpful. This hotel provided us the best Japanese traditional onsen experience we could possibly imagine. We totally enjoyed our time there.

We booked the traditional room with beef meal for our 1-night stay. The hotel has a grand dame feel, with 2 public baths (3F and 11F) for both men and women. The dinner spread was amazing, with excellent food quality and variety. We love the lounge too on the ground floor where you can relax and hace hot and cold beverage with biscuits, nuts and candy coated chocolates. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing. The hotel location is just 5 mins from the famous red bridge which we went at night for the illumination festival, as well as in the morning before the bus loads for tourists arrived. I would stay here again.

The room, is very clean and spacious. Onsen was excellent The hotel is huge. Even though it ran at full occupancy, we see very few people at the lobby and onsen including the dining areas.. We had the half board. The kisekii dinner and breakfast was good. Staff are so friendly and helpful., always serve with a smile. We so love the lounge. Great selection of music. Top it up, comes with complimentary drinks. Was super relaxing.. We really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this hotel.

We love our stay ay Hanamomiji. The hotel is in a good location that we could walk to city attractions. Staffs were all friendly and helpful. They helped us book the our dinner on the day of check-out. Our rooms were enormous and well equipped. They were clean and organized. Our kaiseki (Dinner) was superb. It was well presented and delicious. Breakfast buffet was also pleasing with both Japanese and western dishes.
